Special Benefit for Ryanne Fender

Introducing Ryanne Fender...

... special fundraiser for Ryanne at tidbit!

We would like to take a moment and invite you and all of your friends to dine at tidbit anytime between January 9th and January 13th for a special benefit for one of our dearest friends.

Ryanne is 15 years old and was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease in early December. We know Ryanne well because her step-mom, Danii, works with us at tidbit. During the last few weeks, Ryanne has been going through aggressive chemotherapy and, while the results are still uncertain, we are confident that everything will go well.

Ryanne's wish for the new year was to have a new Macbook to keep in touch with her friends at her high school. Unfortunately, she was not able to get her wish fulfilled yet. Her dad, Pete, was "downsized" last year; he has been trying to keep everything together but finding a new job is hard even if you have time to look for a job full time. Her step-mom, Danii, is one of our best friends and a great supporter of tidbit since day one. Danii works two jobs to keep the family afloat. To complicate things, Ryanne's mother just gave birth to a younger brother as Ryanne was in the hospital undergoing chemo; so her mom has very limited time to spend with Ryanne.

Tidbit would like to do something special for Ryanne. We have donated so much in the past 3 1/2 years to organizations that stand for good causes, so we came up with a special promotion, something just for Ryanne.

During the second week in January, from January 9th through January 13th , tidbit will collect 10% of its proceeds and any additional donation to help Ryanne buy a Macbook. We all hope to make her wish come true. But we really need everyone's help to make this promotion successful.

So, we would love to see you support this brave teenager. Let’s get the year started off on the right foot! Your support and your donation will effect many lives.

Thank you very much.

Happy 2011!

New Year, New Happy Hour at $1

New Year, New Happy Hour!

Yes, it’s time to shake up our Happy Hour.

Starting in January 2011, Tidbit Bistro is going to offer something

great, fun, and crazy!

In 2010, we introduced the rotating dishes and drinks for our Happy Hour. Depending on the day, you can get different dishes and different drinks, but....

in 2011, things get even better! We are starting the year off with a bang!

First, the hours of the operations will be longer. Our Happy Hour will start at 4 pm and last until 6 pm and....it will restart again from 9 pm until we close. As usual it will be available from Sunday through Friday.

Second, there will be more tables. Happy Hour will be now served at the bar for parties of 3 people or less but if you come with a party larger than 3 people, you can choose to have a table in the dining room. Also, if the bar gets full, you can get a table in the dining room.

Finally, the prices! Those will really make anybody happy!

All of our well drinks with gin, vodka, or rum will be available for just $1 and our white house wine and red house wine will be available for just $1.

Yes, that is ONE dollar!

Award winning Capitol Hill bistro exceeds expectations
July 9 - Sadie Amanda - Seattle Gluten-Free Food Examiner

The name tidbit bistro belies the number of menu items you will be tempted by while dining at this amazing little establishment on Capitol Hill. The relaxed dining lounge is well polished and on warm days patrons can enjoy seating on a rustic deck underneath umbrellas. Tables are decorated with trivia cards that share humor and history from the Spanish and Italian languages and traditional cuisine. The wine list is a notch above most other casual restaurants but the food leaves the competition a mile behind.
Menu items that are already gluten free as well as those than can be modified as such are denoted by an orange circle on the menu. A separate vegan and vegetarian menu also offers additional gluten free choices. Simply ask the wait staff what ingredients are in any dish and they will produce a long list of fresh ingredients. If your meal needs to be further modified to avoid nuts, seeds or other allergens, the kitchen will oblige whenever possible.
tidbit bistro won the people's pick for best new neighborhood restaurant in 2008 by nwsource.com, as well as being awarded top honors for Best Tapas of Western Washington by Evening Magazine. The restaurant owners maintain a blog to update customers, fans and family on the latest happenings. Check out
tidbitbistro.blogspot.com to get in on the latest details.
Since March of 2008, tidbit bistro has been a Certified Green Restaurant by the Green Restaurant Association. On the back of their dining menu, there is a list of all the measures they have taken to support sustainability. Not only do they prefer local and sustainable foods, they are polystyrene free, provide 100% biodegradable to-go boxes and follow a host of other regimens to conserve and care for the environment. While they are happy to continue filling your water and bring you a basket of bread for the table, they ask that you make these requests so that they do not end up with waste.
Always Remember : The only way to guarantee a gluten free meal is to cook at home with fresh ingredients on a gluten free surface. All restaurants that offer gluten free meals will do their best to prepare your meal without gluten, although they cannot guarantee that your meal will not be exposed to incidental cross contamination. For those who have absolutely zero tolerance for gluten, please be aware of this possibility when dining out.
